Then you should definitely check out the Pecan Street Festival on May 7 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and May 8 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. An Austin family tradition for 33 years, the free family event is the largest art festival in Central Texas, attracting more than 300,000 people in past years with juried artists, original artisans, live music, delicious food, children’s workshops, magicians, jugglers, comedians and so much more.
For attendees who love to shop, there are several arts and crafts vendors with a variety of unique offerings. From paintings, sculpture and woodwork to candles, jewelry, cowboy hats, home décor and games, you’ll find it here.
If want to discover the next hottest band, then make sure to visit one or all of the festival’s three stages of live music. Past artists who have graced these stages include Stevie Ray Vaughn, Vallejo and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
And, make sure to come to the Pecan Street Festival hungry because the event features more than 20 food vendors serving up everything from traditional festival fare such as lemonade, funnel cakes, popcorn and cotton candy to turkey legs, barbecue, international dishes, healthy selections and more.
