TV sizes have dramatically decreased in cost over the years and more importantly decreased in thickness. This brings a variety of advantages to our custom home building clients for placement and mounting of their home automation.
A thin display combined with an ultra thin mount can be as little as 2” off the wall versus 6-8” in prior years. Displays can be on the same walls shared with art and stick out no more than any conventional art frame. Cabling is more concealed from side views which make any display more attractive on pathway walls when the sides are viewable. Even cantilever mounts come in a 2” thick form factor so displays can stay snug to the wall or pull them out 30” for viewing from other angles. Of course thin displays take more coordination with low voltage wire placement and electrical outlets.
When selecting a location for any display always consider how the outlets will be placed behind the displays in relationship to the mounting arms. Every inch counts so be sure your Audio Visual contractor is as skilled on placement as they are on technology!
