Thanksgiving Day is almost upon us. Although the first instinct may be to start searching for elastic waistband pants and begin scoping out the prime napping locations in your relatives’ new homes in Austin, you may want to consider finding an event that will allow you to burn off those few extra calories you consume this holiday. If you’re ready to get moving this year instead of lounging on the sofa, then you’ll want to check out the 20th Annual ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot benefiting the Caritas of Austin on Nov. 25 at the Long Center in Austin at 7:30 a.m.

The ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot is the largest five-mile run in Texas with more than 15,000 participants expected this year. With the five mile run, one mile walk and Stepping Stone School Kids K, you’ll find a race that suits the earliest beginner and most experienced competitor. You can even bring your pup and stroller so that your whole family can take part in the experience.

If you register before Nov. 21, the cost of participation is $20 for the untimed five mile, $25 for the timed five mile, $20 for the one mile walk and $8 for the Stepping Stone School Kids K. For more information about the 20th Annual ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot, visit the website.
