Great news for all Lakeway communities,  construction of the Lakeway Regional Medical Center has finally begun! Although construction was delayed a few months, everyone has high hopes for the facility.

Already, the medical center has attracted an extraordinary amount of physician investors, 90 to be exact. Which is 30 more than the medical center’s goal and more than original design plans could accommodate.

The center is expected to have 178 open beds and a level II trauma center. If the new Lakeway Regional Medical Center obtains a trauma level II designation, the hospital would be one of only two in the Austin area to do so.

Lakeway Regional Medical Center will offer excellent services such as cardiology/cardiothoracic services, radiation oncology, surgery, women’s health services, physical therapy/sports medicine, speech-language pathology, obstetrics, gynecology and more.

If that isn’t great enough, the hospital has plans for future expansion. The plans include additional beds that will result in a grand total of 200 open beds at the center. Also, plans for a hotel, day care, medical offices, retail space and restaurants are in place. Such additions will certainly enhance the medical center’s appeal for both patients and visitors.

Sterling Custom Homes is excited to have a comfortable place to stay before surgery, some where for your child to safely play while you are at the hospital, and of course good food.

The medical center in Lakeway will serve Steiner Ranch, Hudson Bend, Spicewood and Dripping Springs. The first phase of Lakeway Regional Medical Center is scheduled to open in May of 2010.
