If you’re a classic car collector, or even just an enthusiast, this is the perfect weekend to be in Austin. In its 37-year existence, Dan Kruse’s Hill Country Classic Car Auction has been held in historic Texas Hill Country towns such as San Marcos, Fredericksburg, and New Braunfels, but never in Austin…until now. The 38th Annual Hill Country Classic Car Auction is coming to Austin for the first time on September 15, 2012.

More than 200 custom and classic automobiles are going to be featured at the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Road, Austin, Texas  78704. Some cars that have already been registered include: 1964 Amphicar 770 Convertible (yes, it drives on land and in the water), 1948 Dodge Woodie Commercial Station Wagon, 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner Convertible, 1960 Jeep DJ3 Series Surry Gala, 2010 Tesla Roadster, 1932 Chevrolet BA 4-Door, 1955 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, 1946 Willies Pickup, 1963 Ford Econoline Pickup and a 1993 Cadillac Allante Convertible.

The auction will begin at 10am with primetime being between noon and 4pm. Admission into the auction is $10 and free for kids 10 and under. If you would like to bid on one of these cars, there’s a $50 fee which comes with 2 VIP passes.
