It looks like Sterling Custom Homes has a little building competition. While we are a luxury home builder specializing in Austin custom homes, another group of builders is moving in. Their specialty? Gingerbread.

The Austin Children’s Museum is hosting a really fun and festive activity for the whole family. From now through Dec. 19, families will fill tables to get sticky with icing and construct beautiful yet tiny edible homes. The soft fragrant gingerbread used for the houses is baked right in Austin at La Mexicana Bakery.

To register for the event, call the museum office at 512-472-2499 extension 201, Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The activity is $30 for members and $35 for non-members. The registration fee covers one gingerbread house (with a maximum of three people working on it), museum admission and all supplies. If you have really little ones, teetertot times are scheduled. The gingerbread houses will be pre-made you and your family can focus on the fun of decorating.
