Swimming pools have long been a popular option for Austin custom homes. A pool provides the kids with a healthy, active outlet for all their youthful energy. Parents enjoy the pool for exercise and relaxation. The pool has become a focal point of the outdoor living space and provides a certain lifestyle enjoyed by our custom clients.
During the design phase of our process the question often arises, “Should the pool be part of the home construction project or should it be contracted separately?”
As you can see from the pictures, many of our home construction projects include complicated pools that are challenging to engineer and construct. Some projects that are land-locked or on a sever slope will even require that the pool be formed and poured before (or with) the home foundation. These challenging projects definitely require interaction between the pool contractor and the custom home builder.
However, even if the conditions do not pose an extreme challenge, we still recommend that your builder be involved in the design, layout and construction of the pool because of the coordination required in relation to the home construction project. There are so many factors involved in moving a home construction project forward and keeping it on schedule. Centralizing the overall responsibility for all aspects of the project reduces the chances for miscommunication and costly delays.
Whether you are looking for a free foam pool, lap pool or soaking pool, Sterling Custom Homes can help make your vision a reality.
