Texas Modern 5698 - Elevation with Three GaragesHappy New Year! With the new year upon us it’s always fun to take a look at the upcoming trends we see in the custom home marketplace. Here’s what’s next:
First, there has been a steady move toward a cleaner, simpler overall design – both inside and outside the home. Labeled “Hill Country Contemporary”, this design concept usually incorporates things like non-arched windows and doors, metal roofs, less (or no) crown molding, painted vs stained base and trim, engineered wood floors and large glass transitions from inside to outside.

Our clients are still calling for the open layouts that have been so popular, as well as seamless transitions from inside spaces to outdoor spaces. Large Outdoor Covered Living Areas are very much a part of the current design trend, including outdoor Summer Kitchens and Pools.
Spanish Contemporary 4844 - Spacious Dining Area Decorated with ChandelierThe photos here are of homes we completed in 2012. Ahead of their time, these homes embody most of the trending designs and finishes that more and more clients are asking for these days. Later this month we will be attending the International Builder’s Show where we’ll learn more about upcoming products and features that can be incorporated into this new design concept.
