It should come as no surprise that while the job market deteriorates across the nation, Austin is acknowledged by Yahoo Hot Jobs as one of Texas’ great cites that proposes expected job growth for 2010.  This is no shock to those of us at Sterling Custom Homes as we have been blogging for several months about Austin’s quick recovery from the recession.  We have referred to various reports from Forbes, CEO Magazine, The Milken Institute, Adversity Index, Bizjournal.com and other sources which consistently state that Austin has out performed all other major Texas cities and regularly other large cities in the nation.

Leading factors that hove kept Austin soaring throughout the nationwide recession are:

  • Low unemployment
  • A major research university in the capitol city
  • Leading jobs in the high-tech industry
  • Presence of science and engineering sectors
  • The live music industry

As one of Austin’s premier custom home builders, Sterling Custom Homes has benefited from Austin’s resistance to the plunging nationwide economy. We have started and sold a spec home in Flintrock Falls in the past 100 days, sold 3 lots in the past 60 days and recently started 4 new projects.  It is our reputation for building with integrity for the past 20 years in addition to our highly systematized approach that create a steady interest in our luxury custom home product.

As the Austin Business Journal’s 2010 Custom Builder of the year and recent winner of 3 local awards from the Home Builders’ association, we clearly have remained strong during recession.  Sterling Custom Homes has been building luxury homes in golf course communities, on Lake Austin and other high-end subdivisions for over 20 years.  With that said, we would like to thank the Austin Real Estate community for entrusting their clients to our expertise.
